Sunraysia Community Health Services, Sunraysia Sexual Health and Viral Hepatitis Service-Process and Impact Evaluation (2019-2020)
The Sunraysia Sexual Health and Viral Hepatitis Service (the Service) grew out of both a locally and statistically recognised need. In 2017 there was minimal access to any form of comprehensive sexual health and sexually transmitted infection (STI) support and servicing for people living in the Mallee region of Victoria and, significantly, their sexual health statistics reflected this.
Sunraysia Community Health Services advocated for financial support to establish a locally responsive sexual health service within the service centre of Mildura. They received non-recurrent funding and commenced the design and development of the service in April 2018. This evaluation mapped service growth, challenges, successes and achievements for 15 months (October 2018 to December 2019).
Success of the Sunraysia Sexual Health and Viral Hepatitis Service and the evidence provided in this evaluation resulted in the Service receiving a further three years of funding.
